Mitchell Starc has won the Australian Player of the Series after capturing 23 wickets in an epic Ashes series which ended 2-2, with the Australians retaining the urn.
Mitch was the leading wicket taker in the series, despite only playing four of the 5 Test matches.
“This has been the closest, most exciting and no doubt most watched series I’ve ever been involved in,” said Mitch.
“It’s been a really special couple of months and I’m sure everyone will reflect on that differently but will have a similar sentiment. The ebbs and flows of this series have been incredible to be a part of.”
Mitch also passed 500 First Class wickets during the series and now has 33 Test wickets, which places him as the 5th higgest Australian wicket taker, just 22 behind the great DK Lillee!
Take a bow Mitch – you have done Australia proud this Ashes series.
