Australia has regained the Ashes following a comprehensive victory in Perth and now take an unassailable 3 nil lead in the five match Test series, with Mitchell Starc playing an integral role in the victory.
Mitch is currently the leading wicket taker in the series having captured 19 English scalps, at an average of just 21 and a remarkable strike rate of a wicket every 39 balls.
His success has been the legacy of a massive preparation leading into the Ashes, so we are all delighted to see the big man doing what he does best. But in typical Mitch fashion, he deflected the praise to his team mates.
“It’s such a special feeling winning back the Ashes on your home turf. It’s been a collective effort from the whole team and all the coaching staff,” said Mitch after the Perth Test victory.
“All of our bowlers have been superb and the batsmen have delivered. It is such a pleasure to play with this group. We are 3 nil up, but the job is not finished yet.”
Mitch has a bruised heel on his right foot and medical staff will monitor this leading into the Boxing Day Test.
